2. Test out the henna by squeezing a small dot onto a piece of scrap paper. Squeeze out 3–5 lines that are 3" long and 1/8" thick until you feel that you can confidently control the henna application process.

3. Take the henna ink and use it to draw a paisley leaf about 3" in length on the back of the hand, starting about an inch below the first finger and extending down below the pinky, near the edge of the hand.

4. Next, use the ink to create a mirror image of the first paisley, extending up to the knobby bone on the wrist. Draw 3–4 lines radiating from the center of the leaves and add dots above each line and along the sides of the outermost lines.
